WEMA Bank set to support up to 10,000 Female Entrepreneurs with grants...

 No less than 10,000 youthful female business people will profit from the N500,000 per head Wema Bank Changing Nigerian Youth Program which started off yesterday. The program, coordinated in association with Enterprising Improvement Place (EDC) of Skillet Atlantic College and the MasterCard Establishment, will support and prepare members of somewhere in the range of 18 and 35 years of age in different organizations and jobs at no expense for the recipients. The bank stated this at its Wema Bank base camp in Marina, Lagos. Wema Bank's Chief, Retail and Computerized Business, Tunde Mabawonku, depicted the occasion as an initiation of a strong joint effort that will emphatically influence the existences of individuals. ASUU commences strike!! Parents, students cry as ASUU grounds 40 federal, 44 state varsities,40 federal, 44 state varsities paralysed;  Academic programmes in all public universities in the country were, yesterday, truncated, following an indefinite strike called by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. This came as parents and students, especially final year students, yesterday, expressed frustrations that the strike might prolong their stay in the university. ADVERTISING About 40 federal and 44 state universities in the country, would be affected by the fresh strike which took effect, yesterday. ASUU’s leadership insisted that the strike was total, comprehensive and indefinite and also threatened to sanction any institution that would defy the strike order to conduct lectures, examinations or any nocturnal meetings for the period the action would last. Shocking!! Family gives daughter out to Book Haram

BOKO HARAM:  Parents donate girls for suicide bombing –  Shocking revelations emerged yesterday, of how parents in Nigeria’s North East States of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe wilfully donate their children, particularly the girls, to be strapped with Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, and blown to pieces, as their contribution to Boko Haram. One of the suspected suicide bombers intercepted by security agents in Maiduguri on Tuesday Also Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar, Sunday, said that in spite of recent resurgence in activities of Boko Haram terrorists in the North East, especially Borno State, where several people including soldiers and oil workers were killed with some abducted by the terrorists, the Nigerian military had decimated the terrorists’ strength. The Nigerian Army, while confirming the weird development, appealed to religious leaders, traditional rulers and community leaders to help dissuade their people from the donation spree.

Strange!!!

 Lightning kills 3, injures 2 in Bulgaria   Lightning during a flurry of storms killed three people and seriously injured two others in Bulgaria, TV Evropa reported on Wednesday. One of the victims was a construction worker in the capital Sofia, and the other two were hit near Plovidiv, in the south. Though the incident was not earlier reported, the injured, man and woman are being treated for burns. At the start of the week thunderstorms swept across Bulgaria, which has been enduring a severe heatwave lingering over the Balkans. Storms brought only a brief respite from the heat, as the temperature in Sofia rose to 28 degrees already a red weather alert is to remain in place at least until the end of Thursday.
